Travis Perkins – Hire It
The Challenge
Travis Perkins tasked Nene Warehouse Solutions with developing a practical and cost-effective way to store equipment across their expanding ‘Hire It’ departments. The system needed to accommodate a variety of awkwardly shaped items, be easily repeatable across multiple locations, and stay within budget constraints.
The Solution
Nene utilised its in-house innovation testing bay in Northamptonshire to design and refine a series of storage profiles that could securely house the wide range of equipment used in ‘Hire It’ branches. By repurposing existing pallet racking components and accessories, we created a highly adaptable solution without the need for bespoke fabrication. This allowed us to deliver the test bays immediately from stock. Following a successful trial at a South Coast branch, the system is now being rolled out across new and existing Travis Perkins sites nationwide, providing a scalable, efficient, and easily maintainable storage solution.
