PLI International – London

The Challenge

PLI International needed to increase storage capacity within a highly congested warehouse, where space on the ground was tight but vertical headroom remained underutilised. Their existing mezzanine floor had failed a health and safety audit due to missing safety features, and the presence of fixed, high-value printing equipment meant any new installation had to be carefully designed to work around machinery that could not be relocated.

The Solution

Nene began by dismantling the non-compliant mezzanine and relocating the existing office structure to free up valuable overhead space. Our structural engineers and warehouse design team developed a custom layout with new mezzanine columns precisely positioned between critical machinery. The installation included cantilevered sections over the office area, rebuilt partition walls, ceiling tiles, upgraded fire protection, LED lighting, and full electrical rewiring. To avoid disrupting business-critical operations, Nene scheduled flexible shift work, including weekend installations, and provided end-to-end project management. The result was a seamless transformation with zero downtime and a significant increase in usable space.
